Vila Olímpica’s full name is La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou, and it is a sub-district of Sant Martí, located along the waterfront. Vila Olímpica is a new and modern area, built during the late 1980s and providing accommodation for 15,000 athletes during the 1992 Olympic Games.
The area is famous for its two towers – Torre Mapfre and Hotel Arts – but above all, it is known as a modern and maritime area. Port Olympic is the area’s harbour, offering a vast range of maritime activities, with space for up to 740 boats and welcoming visitors from around the world. Here you will also find the very well-known goldfish statue designed by Frank Gehry. Vila Olímpica is a small area yet is crammed with restaurants and bars.
It also offers great local connections via several nearby metro stations and bus lines. In just 15minutes you can be in the heart of Barcelona.
